About the Vice Chancellor

Catherine C. Scroggs

Dr. Catherine C. Scroggs

Dr. Catherine C. Scroggs has served as the vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Missouri since 2003. As vice chancellor, Dr. Scroggs leads many of the departments that create learning experiences for students outside the classroom and works closely with the chancellor’s staff and provost’s staff.

Student Affairs employs more than 600 staff and 2,200 student employees across campus, and they all share one goal: To ensure that every student on our campus feels valued and has the opportunity to succeed here and in their careers.

Dr. Scroggs began her career in education as a high school science teacher and got her start in student affairs at Stephens College as a residence hall director. Prior to becoming vice chancellor, she served as director of Student Life and assistant director of Residential Life/Greek Life at MU.

Dr. Scroggs’ professional interests include talent development of both staff and students, innovative learning outcomes for out-of-class activities, the roles of women in leadership, and building collaborative programs between academics and student affairs to enhance the Mizzou student experience.

Cathy and her husband, Stuart, have two daughters and a son-in-law, all Mizzou alumni, and one grandchild. They are proud to be #MizzouMade.
