This year’s Homecoming theme was “A ‘Tail’ of Tradition,” and dozens of student groups used their creativity to illustrate a variety of fairytales. Shurz Hall was one of many MU residence halls to participate in the 2016 Homecoming festivities.

The Shurz Hall team, led by Julie Gauthier, joined in efforts by various campus organizations to paint windows downtown as part of Decorate the District, right.

The students continued working up until the night before the parade, carefully replicating Jesse Hall and MU’s iconic columns for their float, above.

"[Homecoming] was really overwhelming because I didn't know what to expect, but it was really fun to represent Schurz," said Gauthier, a freshman biochemistry major from Fenton, Missouri. "The parade was really fun because we partnered with the Honors College to pass out books during the parade."
