Residence halls are a big part of how Mizzou freshmen are introduced to campus and learn about the university. For Shushen Song, McDavid Hall was a jumping-off point into a new country.

An international student from China, Song was active in his hall, which houses many international students. He also took a part-time job with Campus Dining Services. He talked with “the local people” as much as he could, tried all the food and  made a lot of friends.

Song says he had longed to study in America before coming here. Now a junior, the computer science major looks back over his time at Mizzou and says, “It’s a like a dream.”
