Stay safe this weekend

First the good news: The number of active cases of COVID-19 is trending down. This is due to the responsible decisions the vast majority of you have made to help keep everyone in our community safe, so thank you.

There continue to be exceptions, however, and that’s why I’m writing. University of Missouri officials announced today that they have taken steps to discipline an additional 20 individuals with suspensions, probation and other sanctions for violating policies related to COVID.

As we go into our first football weekend of the season, it’s no exaggeration to say that our choices could have a lasting impact on others. Make decisions that keep us all safe, and don’t host or go to parties. Remember, tailgating is prohibited.
