Graphic for Chancellor's Excellence Awards over the UM System SealFrom the Desk of William Stackman, Vice Provost for Student Affairs

Several Mizzou individuals and organizations were recently recognized for their achievements with Chancellor’s Excellence Awards. The award was established to honor excellence, one of Mizzou’s four core values along with respect, responsibility and discovery.

This year, six exemplary students and four student organizations received Chancellor’s Excellence Awards. The Unsung Hero Award also was presented to acknowledge selfless acts of initiative and commitment performed by undergraduate students on campus. Recognition is based on traits including perseverance, dedication and initiative. Eight undergraduates received the Unsung Hero Award this spring.

There also were awards presented to members of fraternity and sorority life and three awards presented in partnership with the Mizzou Student Veterans Association. A full list of the award recipients can be found here.

Normally our students are recognized with an on-campus celebration. Unfortunately, this was yet another campus tradition that had to be celebrated in a new, virtual way. But that does not take away from their success. I am so proud of their initiative, dedication to learning and commitment to serving others, both on and off campus. Congratulations to each of this year’s Chancellor’s Excellence Awards recipients. I look forward to celebrating with you in person in the future.
