Social Media Specialist

Main project: I worked with Fraternity & Sorority Life to create paid ads, organic social media posts, flyers and other assets promoting primary recruitment. I also wrote copy and created content for Mizzou Life social media accounts. I conducted an in depth review of the analytics of various Mizzou social media accounts.

What I learned: I became Facebook Blueprint certified, learning the ins and outs of paid advertising on social media: how to choose audiences, the best times and regions in which to post, how to manage budget.

Why You Should Consider This Internship
“I love working with Student Affairs. It’s nice to work with other students and learn from them. We’re from a lot of different majors, so it’s interesting to collaborate with people from different backgrounds. The work is very flexible in terms of scheduling so you can do well class and at work. I felt a lot of ownership in my work running social media accounts. It gives you the kind of hands-on experience you won’t get in many other places. I made a lot of friends at work and I can’t wait to see where we end up after we graduate.”
